The Cutting Edge Documentary Series

This is a mini-documentary series that I made as part of my senior project, it explores Vancouver Island's independent knife makers. This series delves into the personal stories of the knife makers of Vancouver Island, exploring the passion and craftsmanship that drives them to create one-of-a-kind pieces. From veteran knife-makers with decades of experience to young up-and-comers just starting, this mini-documentary series also looks at the impact of technology and new materials on this ancient art form. Each part features different artisans, showcasing their unique style, approach, and philosophy toward their craft. Through cinematography and storytelling, this video series provides a behind-the-scenes look at the passion and dedication that drive these talented individuals. Whether you are a knife enthusiast, a fan of craftsmanship, or simply love intriguing stories, this series is for anyone who has an interest in the world of independent and custom knife-making

About me

I'm a curious and creative digital marketer with a passion for storytelling and content that resonates. During my internship at 3dsense Media School, I strategized and led content efforts across TikTok and Instagram, growing their TikTok from 400 to over 20,000 followers with 1.3 million likes, and increasing their Instagram following from 15,000 to 28,200.

I loved diving into short-form video trends, planning campaigns, and finding new ways to connect with audiences through engaging content. That experience deepened my passion for digital marketing and showed me how bold ideas and smart strategy can drive real impact.

Now, I’m looking to bring that same energy into a full-time role where I can keep growing, create meaningful content, and help brands build strong, lasting connections with their audience.

A little more about me…

Aside from digital media. Gun to my head. If I had to choose only two hobbies for the rest of my life, they would be cooking and basketball.

I would describe myself as someone who has many hobbies, but cooking and basketball are different; they are part of my life. Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved playing basketball. Like every kid, I wanted to play famous players like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant. But to me, it is a bit more than that. I love the challenges I face on the court, both mentally and physically. To me, a basketball game is almost like poetry, the way people move into their spots, the passes, and the shots. Every movement feels like a dance. Most importantly, basketball brings people together; it's a community. Some of my best friends are made on the court.

While recovering from the soreness from playing basketball, I enjoy cooking. I remember I stumbled upon a video of Gordon Ramsay making a steak. At that time, cooking seemed like a chore to me, and I could not be bothered by it. But something about the way he cooks just seems so mesmerizing to my eyes—the way he handles the ingredients and how he seasoned it with precision. After that, I stumbled upon even more Gordon Ramsay videos and decided to give it a try.

I bought the ingredients, headed to the kitchen and started preparing a steak. That was my first time cooking, and my parents decided they were going to be the judge. I was nervous, but I followed along with the video, trying my best to replicate Ramsay’s steps as best as I could. Now, thinking back, it was far from the best steak in the world, but watching my parents eating it and telling me how good it was, I felt like I made the best steak in the world. Their smiles warm my heart, and just like how digital media invokes emotion in people, I believe cooking does the same. Ever since, I have loved cooking for my family and friends. The happiness I invoke in them is how I want people to feel about my professional work.
